Amirta International Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology
AMIRTA International Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology is one of the training institutes in Tamil Nadu, India under the AMIRTA Group of Educational Institutions. It’s centers are located in Chennai, Coimbatore and Trichy.

The Institute is designed to train and upgrade candidates with skills in supervisory and managerial levels in the areas Hotel Management, Catering Technology, Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office, Housekeeping, Hotel Financial Management, Tourism & Travel Management, Nutrition, Dietetics & Hospital Food Service and other special areas in the service industry.

The Institute of Professional Development, Open University Malaysia (IPD-OUM) plans to accept a possible credit transfer from the students of AMIRTA International Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, who has met the minimum qualifying criteria of IPD-OUM, for admission into IPD-OUM’s Professional Diploma programmes in Malaysia at an additional fee.

IPD-OUM’s associate partner in India, Straits Academy India Pvt Ltd will be our official representative and responsible in monitoring all IPD-OUM activities in India and monitoring quality assurance in all activities in India.

Students from AMIRTA International Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology who undertakes the credit transfer option to register for the IPD-OUM’s programme in Malaysia, will have an opportunity to participate in an “on-the –job” training and leadership training programme at the Institute of Professional Development, Open University Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur campus for a period of 25 days (excluding arrival and departure).

Straits Academy Malaysia

Straits Academy Malaysia ("SAM") was started in 2003 as an in-house training centre of the IAL Group (Dubai, UAE). It was a realization of the dream of Mr TVN Kutty, Managing Director of IAL Group to create a knowledge pool for the industry in India and far east.

The academy had its maiden program where 30 fresh graduates were given intensive training for 3 months under the guidance of Mr TVN Kutty. They were placed in various departments within the IAL Group.The training program encompassed a complete range of modules covering management, operations, sales, accounting and human resource aspects of the business.

In 2007, as an "evolution" from this, Straits Academy Malaysia was incorporated in Malaysia to undertake the role of a full-fledged training academy.SAM started offering courses to students as well as working adults within its collaboration with IPD-Open University Malaysia.
SSM International Academy
SSMIA is an academy situated at Komarapalayam, Tamilnadu (India). SSMIA collaborated with IPD-OUM via the efforts of Straits Academy Malaysia. The Memorandum of Agreement between SSMIA and IPD-OUM was signed at Kochi, India in November 2010.

Based on the MOA, IPD-OUM’s top-up programs are offered at SSMIA. These programs include Professional Diploma in Freight Logistics, Professional Diploma in Embedded System Design, Leadership Camp and Seminar in Freight Logistics.

More than 80 students have enrolled for various programs and would be completing in stages beginning from October 2011. To elaborate the Leadership Camp in particular, a group of 50 students visited Malaysia for 15 days and participated in visits to some factories, overview of Westports Malaysia, visit to university campuses and also some colleges in Malaysia.
KMC Public School
KMC Public School is a CBSE syllabus school situated at Tiruppur, Tamilnadu (India). ). KMC is one of the schools that collaborated with SOLL-OUM (School of Lifelong Learning) via the initiatives of Straits Academy Malaysia. The Memorandum of Agreement between SSMIA and SOLL-OUM was signed at Tiruppur, India in November 2010.
Based on the MOA, SOLL-OUM organized an Academic Leadership Camp in Malaysia for KMC’s students where they visited Malaysia for 10 days and participated in activities ranging as follows:
- Visit and interaction with students from Malaysia private and public schools,
- visit to manufacturing facility,
- visit and presentation at Northport (one of the busiest ports in Malaysia),
- visit and briefing at a public university campus,
- cultural program, and
- leadership training
KMC is at present considering various other programs for its students.
Coimbatore Institute Of Engineering Technology & Coimbatore Institute Of Management And Technology

CIET and CIMAT belongs to the Kovai Kalaimagal Group situated at Coimbatore, Tamilnadu (India). CIET and CIMAT collaborated with IPD-OUM via the efforts of Straits Academy Malaysia. The Memorandum of Agreement between SSMIA and IPD-OUM was signed at Coimbatore, India in May 2011.

Based on the MOA, IPD-OUM’s programs are to be offered at CIET. These programs would include Professional Diploma in Freight Logistics, Professional Diploma in Embedded System Design, Leadership Camp and Seminar in Freight Logistics.

Students from this institution are also considering doing part of their program at IPD-OUM in Malaysia. We anticipate a rapid growth in student enrollment in this institution starting from November 2011 upon completion of the program validation
Vasundara Automation and Engineering Services Pvt Ltd (VAES) Bangalore

Vasundara being the leading automation solution provider for manufacturing and Process Industries, has trained many engineers and technician in the area of Industrial Automation, industries such as Jindal Steel Ltd, Indian Tobacco Industries (ITC), Toyota Bhoshuku Automation Pvt Ltd Bangalore and National semiconductors Bangalore are amongst the list of clients.

Vasundara Malaysia Sdn Bhd wholly owned by by Vasundara Automation and Engineering Services Pvt Ltd (VAES) has signed up with IPD-OUM to deliver automation technology training programmes in Malaysia.

VAES having a decade of experience working as solution provider in Industrial Automation is currently into training activities. The objective of training activity is to develop the competency of the industry professionals to meet challenges of technological advancements in the area of Industrial Automation, Electronics Manufacturing Practices, Project Management and Medical Electronics. VAES is a recognized training partner for Academic Institutions and Industries.

Both IPD-OUM and VAES will be jointly offering training programs like Industrial Automation, Electronics Manufacturing, Electro Magnetic Compatibility and Project Management.
